Delete lines in rules that invoke $(MKDEPDIR). Fix editing rules that begin with "cd ../lisp". Edit out sh if-then-else-fi constructs that test ${CANNOT_DUMP}. Edit out "|| exit ;\" constructs in emacs${EXEEXT} rule.
