The rk3288 has several iommus. Each iommu belongs to a single master
device. There is one device (ISP) that has two slave iommus, but that
case is not yet supported by this driver.
At subsys init, the iommu driver registers itself as the iommu driver for
the platform bus. The master devices find their slave iommus using the
"iommus" field in their devicetree description. Since each slave iommu
belongs to exactly one master, their is no additional data needed at probe
to associate a slave with its master.
An iommu device's power domain, clock and irq are all shared with its
master device, and the master device must be careful to attach from the
iommu only after powering and clocking it (and leave it powered and
clocked before detaching). Because their is no guarantee what the status
of the iommu is at probe, and since the driver does not even know if the
device is powered, we delay requesting its irq until the master device
attaches, at which point we have a guarantee that the device is powered
and clocked and we can reset it and disable its interrupt mask.
An iommu_domain describes a virtual iova address space. Each iommu_domain
has a corresponding page table that lists the mappings from iova to
physical address.
For the rk3288 iommu, the page table has two levels:
The Level 1 "directory_table" has 1024 4-byte dte entries.
Each dte points to a level 2 "page_table".
Each level 2 page_table has 1024 4-byte pte entries.
Each pte points to a 4 KiB page of memory.
An iommu_domain is created when a dma_iommu_mapping is created via
arm_iommu_create_mapping. Master devices can then attach themselves to
this mapping (or attach the mapping to themselves?) by calling
arm_iommu_attach_device(). This in turn instructs the iommu driver to
write the page table's physical address into the slave iommu's "Directory
Table Entry" (DTE) register.
In fact multiple master devices, each with their own slave iommu device,
can all attach to the same mapping. The iommus for these devices will
share the same iommu_domain and therefore point to the same page table.
Thus, the iommu domain maintains a list of iommu devices which are
attached. This driver relies on the iommu core to ensure that all devices
have detached before destroying a domain.
v6: - add .add/remove_device() callbacks.
- parse platform_device device tree nodes for "iommus" property
- store platform device pointer as group iommudata
- Check for existence of iommu group instead of relying on a
dev_get_drvdata() to return NULL for a NULL device.
v7: - fixup some strings.
- In rk_iommu_disable_paging() # and % were reversed.

Pull MTD fixes from Brian Norris:
"Three main MTD fixes for 3.18:
- A regression from 3.16 which was noticed in 3.17. With the
restructuring of the m25p80.c driver and the SPI NOR library
framework, we omitted proper listing of the SPI device IDs. This
means m25p80.c wouldn't auto-load (modprobe) properly when built as
a module. For now, we duplicate the device IDs into both modules.
- The OMAP / ELM modules were depending on an implicit link ordering.
Use deferred probing so that the new link order (in 3.18-rc) can
still allow for successful probing.
- Fix suspend/resume support for LH28F640BF NOR flash"

After '#echo mem > /sys/power/state' some devices can not be properly resumed
because apparently the MTD Partition Configuration Register has been reset
to default thus the rootfs cannot be mounted cleanly on resume.
An example of this can be found in the SA-1100 Developer's Manual at 9.5.3.3
where the second step of the Sleep Shutdown Sequence is described:
"An internal reset is applied to the SA-1100. All units are reset...".
As workaround we refresh the PCR value as done initially on chip setup.
This behavior and the fix are confirmed by our tests done on 2 different Zaurus
collie units with kernel 3.17.

Since commit 6d178ef2fd5e ("mtd: nand: Move ELM driver and rename as
omap_elm"), I don't have any mtd devices present on my am335x. This
changes the link order of the omap_elm and omap2 objects, causing them
to probe in the wrong order.
To fix this, make elm_config defer probing until the omap_elm driver is
actually loaded.

m25p80's device ID table is now spi_nor_ids, defined in spi-nor. The
MODULE_DEVICE_TABLE() macro doesn't work with extern definitions, but
its use was also removed at the same time. Now if m25p80 is built as
a module it doesn't get the necessary aliases to be loaded
automatically.
A clean solution to this will involve defining the list of device
IDs in spi-nor.h and removing struct spi_device_id from the spi-nor
API, but this is quite a large change.
As a quick fix suitable for stable, copy the device IDs back into
m25p80.

Turning vdd on/off can generate a long hpd pulse on eDP ports. In order
to handle hpd we would need to turn on vdd to perform aux transfers.
This would lead to an endless cycle of
"vdd off -> long hpd -> vdd on -> detect -> vdd off -> ..."
So ignore long hpd pulses on eDP ports. eDP panels should be physically
tied to the machine anyway so they should not actually disappear and
thus don't need long hpd handling. Short hpds are still needed for link
re-train and whatnot so we can't just turn off the hpd interrupt
entirely for eDP ports. Perhaps we could turn it off whenever the panel
is disabled, but just ignoring the long hpd seems sufficient.

Sometimes we seem to get utter garbage from DPCD reads. The resulting
buffer is filled with the same byte, and the operation completed without
errors. My HP ZR24w monitor seems particularly susceptible to this
problem once it's gone into a sleep mode.
The issue seems to happen only for the first AUX message that wakes the
sink up. But as the first AUX read we often do is the DPCD receiver
cap it does wreak a bit of havoc with subsequent link training etc. when
the receiver cap bw/lane/etc. information is garbage.
A sufficient workaround seems to be to perform a single byte dummy read
before reading the actual data. I suppose that just wakes up the sink
sufficiently and we can just throw away the returned data in case it's
crap. DP_DPCD_REV seems like a sufficiently safe location to read here.

into drm-fixes
Three changes for the Armada DRM driver:
1. Add back the flags which tell the DRM core that we can do vblank. This
was removed in error during the recent restructuring, and came to light
while trying textured Xv rendering.
2. Fixing a refcount leak with Xv overlay.
3. As per recent discussion, the drm_vblank_pre_modeset() calls can cause
deadlock with other changes to generic code. This change prevents those
deadlocks by switching to the drm_crtc_vblank_*() calls instead.

A refcounting leak was found of the original frame buffer attached to
the CRTC when using the page_flip ioctl, resulting in the frame buffer
never being freed.
This was not obvious initially, as if the page flip subsequently
re-attaches the original frame buffer, the refcounts will be balanced.
However, if the original frame buffer is freed, then it will be leaked.
Fix this by ensuring that we take a reference on the incoming fb, but
rely on the queued work to drop that ref count.

Pull ARM fixes from Russell King:
- add the new bpf syscall to ARM.
- drop a redundant return statement in __iommu_alloc_remap()
- fix a performance issue noticed by Thomas Petazzoni with
kmap_atomic().
- fix an issue with the L2 cache OF parsing code which caused it to
incorrectly print warnings on each boot, and make the warning text
more consistent with the rest of the code

Since CONFIG_HIGHMEM got enabled on ARMv5 Kirkwood, we have noticed a
very significant drop in networking performance. The test were
conducted on an OpenBlocks A7 board. Without this patch, the outgoing
performance measured with iperf are:
- highmem OFF, TSO OFF 544 Mbit/s
- highmem OFF, TSO ON 942 Mbit/s
- highmem ON, TSO OFF 306 Mbit/s
- highmem ON, TSO ON 246 Mbit/s
On this Kirkwood platform, the L2 cache is a Feroceon cache, and with
this cache, all the range operations have to be done on virtual
addresses and not physical addresses. Therefore, whenever
CONFIG_HIGHMEM is enabled, the cache maintenance operations call
kmap_atomic_pfn() and kunmap_atomic().
However, kmap_atomic_pfn() does not implement the same fast path for
non-highmem pages as the one implemented in kmap_atomic(), and this is
one of the reason for the performance drop. While this patch does not
fully restore the performances, it clearly improves them a lot:
without patch with patch
- highmem ON, TSO OFF 306 Mbit/s 387 Mbit/s
- highmem ON, TSO ON 246 Mbit/s 434 Mbit/s
We're still far from the !CONFIG_HIGHMEM performances, but it does
improve a bit the situation.
Thanks a lot to Ezequiel Garcia and Gregory Clement for all the
testing work around this topic.
