| | * MDEV-23269 SIGSEGV in ft_boolean_check_syntax_string on setting ↵bb-10.2-bar-MDEV-23269Alexander Barkov2021-10-111-1/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | ft_boolean_syntax The crash happened because my_isalnum() does not support character sets with mbminlen>1. The value of "ft_boolean_syntax" is converted to utf8 in do_string_check(). So calling my_isalnum() is combination with "default_charset_info" was wrong. Adding new parameters (size_t length, CHARSET_INFO *cs) to ft_boolean_check_syntax_string() and passing self->charset(thd) as the character set.

| * | add const qualifiers to sys_var::value_ptr functions and fix const castsNikita Malyavin2021-07-271-15/+21
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This is important since Sys_var_typelib and its descendants return pointers to constant symbols from *_value_ptr, which are situated in write-protected-memory. * functions const-qualified: - value_ptr - session_value_ptr - global_value_ptr - default_value_ptr - Sys_var_vers_asof::value_ptr - other minor private ones * remove C-style typecasts when it discards qualifiers

Instead, it sets system_time to SYSTEM_TIME_UNSPECIFIED, which means that no 'AS OF' time is applied and `now()` can be assumed As a regression, we cannot assign values below 1970 (UTC) anymore MDEV-16481: set global system_versioning_asof=sf() crashes in specific case * sys_vars.h: add `MYSQL_TIME` field to `set_var::save_result` * sys_vars.ic: get rid of calling `var->value->get_date()` from `Sys_var_vers_asof::update()` * versioning.sysvars: add test; remove double warning refactor Sys_var_vers_asof * inherit from sys_var rather than Sys_var_enum * remove junk "DEFAULT" keyword. There is DEFAULT in SQL grammar for it. * make all conversions in check() to avoid possible errors * avoid double var->value evaluation, which could consequence in undefined behavior

After this commit, one should be able to run this without any UBSAN warnings. There is still a few compiler warnings that should be fixed at some point, but these do not expose any real bugs. The 'special' cases where we disable, suppress or circumvent UBSAN are: - ref10 source (as here we intentionally do some shifts that UBSAN complains about. - x86 version of optimized int#korr() methods. UBSAN do not like unaligned memory access of integers. Fixed by using byte_order_generic.h when compiling with UBSAN - We use smaller thread stack with ASAN and UBSAN, which forced me to disable a few tests that prints the thread stack size. - Verifying class types does not work for shared libraries. I added suppression in mysql-test-run.pl for this case. - Added '#ifdef WITH_UBSAN' when using integer arithmetic where it is safe to have overflows (two cases, in item_func.cc). Things fixed: - Don't left shift signed values (byte_order_generic.h, mysqltest.c, item_sum.cc and many more) - Don't assign not non existing values to enum variables. - Ensure that bool and enum values are properly initialized in constructors. This was needed as UBSAN checks that these types has correct values when one copies an object. (gcalc_tools.h, ha_partition.cc, item_sum.cc, partition_element.h ...) - Ensure we do not called handler functions on unallocated objects or deleted objects. (events.cc, sql_acl.cc). - Fixed bugs in Item_sp::Item_sp() where we did not call constructor on Query_arena object. - Fixed several cast of objects to an incompatible class! (Item.cc, Item_buff.cc, item_timefunc.cc, opt_subselect.cc, sql_acl.cc, sql_select.cc ...) - Ensure we do not do integer arithmetic that causes over or underflows. This includes also ++ and -- of integers. (Item_func.cc, Item_strfunc.cc, item_timefunc.cc, sql_base.cc ...) - Added JSON_VALUE_UNITIALIZED to json_value_types and ensure that value_type is initialized to this instead of to -1, which is not a valid enum value for json_value_types. - Ensure we do not call memcpy() when second argument could be null. - Fixed that Item_func_str::make_empty_result() creates an empty string instead of a null string (safer as it ensures we do not do arithmetic on null strings). Other things: - Changed struct st_position to an OBJECT and added an initialization function to it to ensure that we do not copy or use uninitialized members. The change to a class was also motived that we used "struct st_position" and POSITION randomly trough the code which was confusing. - Notably big rewrite in sql_acl.cc to avoid using deleted objects. - Changed in sql_partition to use '^' instead of '-'. This is safe as the operator is either 0 or 0x8000000000000000ULL. - Added check for select_nr < INT_MAX in JOIN::build_explain() to avoid bug when get_select() could return NULL. - Reordered elements in POSITION for better alignment. - Changed sql_test.cc::print_plan() to use pointers instead of objects. - Fixed bug in find_set() where could could execute '1 << -1'. - Added variable have_sanitizer, used by mtr. (This variable was before only in 10.5 and up). It can now have one of two values: ASAN or UBSAN. - Moved ~Archive_share() from ha_archive.cc to ha_archive.h and marked it virtual. This was an effort to get UBSAN to work with loaded storage engines. I kept the change as the new place is better. - Added in CONNECT engine COLBLK::SetName(), to get around a wrong cast in tabutil.cpp. - Added HAVE_REPLICATION around usage of rgi_slave, to get embedded server to compile with UBSAN. (Patch from Marko). - Added #ifdef for powerpc64 to avoid a bug in old gcc versions related to integer arithmetic. Changes that should not be needed but had to be done to suppress warnings from UBSAN: - Added static_cast<<uint16_t>> around shift to get rid of a LOT of compiler warnings when using UBSAN. - Had to change some '/' of 2 base integers to shift to get rid of some compile time warnings. Reviewed by: - Json changes: Alexey Botchkov - Charset changes in ctype-uca.c: Alexander Barkov - InnoDB changes & Embedded server: Marko Mäkelä - sql_acl.cc changes: Vicențiu Ciorbaru - build_explain() changes: Sergey Petrunia

| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | wsrep_cluster_address_update() causes LOCK_wsrep_slave_threads to be locked under LOCK_wsrep_cluster_config, while normally the order should be the opposite. Fix: don't protect @@wsrep_cluster_address value with the LOCK_wsrep_cluster_config, LOCK_global_system_variables is enough. Only protect wsrep reinitialization with the LOCK_wsrep_cluster_config. And make it use a local copy of the global @@wsrep_cluster_address. Also, introduce a helper function that checks whether wsrep_cluster_address is set and also asserts that it can be safely read by the caller.

For 10.2, 10.3 and 10.4 the fix is simple: - Replace all calls to thd->mdl_context.release_transactional_locks() with thd->release_transactional_locks(). The thd function will only call the mdl_context function if there are no active transactional locks. In 10.6 we will better fix where we will change the return value for some trans_xxx() functions to indicate if transaction did close the transaction or not. This will avoid the need of the indirect call. Other things: - trans_xa_commit() and trans_xa_rollback() will automatically call release_transactional_locks() if the transaction is closed. - We can't do that for the other functions as the caller of many of these are doing additional work (like close_thread_tables) before calling release_transactional_locks(). - Added missing abort_result_set() and missing DBUG_RETURN in select_create::send_eof() - Fixed wrong indentation in injector::transaction::commit()

| * | MDEV-21101 unexpected wait_timeout with pool-of-threadsVladislav Vaintroub2020-07-301-0/+6
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Due to restricted size of the threadpool, execution of client queries can be delayed (queued) for a while. This delay was interpreted as client inactivity, and connection is closed, if client idle time + queue time exceeds wait_timeout. But users did not expect queue time to be included into wait_timeout. This patch changes the behavior. We don't close connection anymore, if there is some unread data present on connection, even if wait_timeout is exceeded. Unread data means that client was not idle, it sent a query, which we did not have time to process yet.

The fix to this problem would be to create sort keys for decimals with atmost max_sort_key bytes Important: The minimum value of max_sort_length has been raised to 8 (previously was 4), so fixed size datatypes like DOUBLE and BIGINIT are not truncated for lower values of max_sort_length.

Indexed virtual columns as well as persistent generated columns are now not allowed to have such dependencies to avoid inconsistent data or index files on sql_mode changes. So an error is now returned in cases like this: CREATE OR REPLACE TABLE t1 ( a CHAR(5), v VARCHAR(5) AS (a) PERSISTENT -- CHAR->VARCHAR or CHAR->TEXT = ERROR ); Functions RPAD() and RTRIM() can now remove dependency on PAD_CHAR_TO_FULL_LENGTH. So this can be used instead: CREATE OR REPLACE TABLE t1 ( a CHAR(5), v VARCHAR(5) AS (RTRIM(a)) PERSISTENT ); Note, unlike CHAR->VARCHAR and CHAR->TEXT this still works, not RPAD(a) is needed: CREATE OR REPLACE TABLE t1 ( a CHAR(5), v CHAR(5) AS (a) PERSISTENT -- CHAR->CHAR is OK ); More sql_mode flags may affect values of generated columns. They will be addressed separately. See comments in sql_mode.h for implementation details.

Valid values are TLSv1.0, TLSv1.1, TLSv1.2, TLSv1.3 or a combination of them. E.g. --tls_version=TLSv1.3 --tls_version=TLSv1.2,TLSv1.3 In case there is a gap between versions, the lowest version will be used: --tls_version=TLSv1.1,TLSv1.3 -> Only TLSv1.1 will be available. If the used TLS library doesn't support the specified TLS version, it will use the default configuration. Limitations: SSLv3 is not supported. The default configuration doesn't support TLSv1.0 anymore. TLSv1.3 protocol currently is only supported by OpenSSL 1.1.0 (client and server) and GnuTLS 3.6.5 (client only).
