Prototype change:
- virtual ha_rows records_in_range(uint inx, key_range *min_key,
- key_range *max_key)
+ virtual ha_rows records_in_range(uint inx, const key_range *min_key,
+ const key_range *max_key,
+ page_range *res)
The handler can ignore the page_range parameter. In the case the handler
updates the parameter, the optimizer can deduce the following:
- If previous range's last key is on the same block as next range's first
key
- If the current key range is in one block
- We can also assume that the first and last block read are cached!
This can be used for a better calculation of IO seeks when we
estimate the cost of a range index scan.
The parameter is fully implemented for MyISAM, Aria and InnoDB.
A separate patch will update handler::multi_range_read_info_const() to
take the benefits of this change and also remove the double
records_in_range() calls that are not anymore needed.

- Initalize Aria early to allow it to load mysql.plugin table with --help
- Don't print 'aborting' when doing --help
- Don't write 'loose' error messages on log_warning < 2 (2 is default)
- Don't write warnings about disabled plugings when doing --help
- Don't write aria_log_control or aria log files when doing --help
- When using --help, open all Aria tables in read only mode (safety)
- If aria_init() fails, do a cleanup(). (Frees used memory)
- If aria_log_control is locked with --help, then don't wait 30 seconds
but instead return at once without initialzing Aria plugin.

Make all system tables in mysql directory of type
engine=Aria
Privilege tables are using transactional=1
Statistical tables are using transactional=0, to allow them
to be quickly updated with low overhead.
Help tables are also using transactional=0 as these are only
updated at init time.
Other changes:
- Aria store engine is now a required engine
- Update comment for Aria tables to reflect their new usage
- Fixed that _ma_reset_trn_for_table() removes unlocked table
from transaction table list. This was needed to allow one
to lock and unlock system tables separately from other
tables, for example when reading a procedure from mysql.proc
- Don't give a warning when using transactional=1 for engines
that is using transactions. This is both logical and also
to avoid warnings/errors when doing an alter of a privilege
table to InnoDB.
- Don't abort on warnings from ALTER TABLE for changes that
would be accepted by CREATE TABLE.
- New created Aria transactional tables are marked as not movable
(as they include create_rename_lsn).
- bootstrap.test was changed to kill orignal server, as one
can't anymore have two servers started at same time on same
data directory and data files.
- Disable maria.small_blocksize as one can't anymore change
aria block size after system tables are created.
- Speed up creation of help tables by using lock tables.
- wsrep_sst_resync now also copies Aria redo logs.

Reason for the problem was that the hash of changed files in the key cache was too small (was 128). Fixed by making the hash size larger and changeable.
- Introduced key-cache-file-hash-size (default 512) for MyISAM and aria_pagecache_file_hash_size (default 512) for Aria.

The isssue was that the check if a table was moved between systems didn't take into account that create_trid could be bigger than the current max trid on the new system.
This could only happen if one tried to move a table that one had just done a 'REPAIR TABLE' on.
Tables that one had run 'aria_chk --zerofill' on worked.
Fixed this by assuming that if create_trid is too big then the table has been moved from one system to another and we have to do an automatic zerofill.
Other fixed:
- Added a check to detect a wrong create_trid in 'check table'.
- aria_chk -dvv will now write out also the create_trid (to make future error finding easier)
- aria_chk --zerofill doesn't anymore require a aria_control_file
- Removed some warnings from safemalloc when using aria_chk, ma_test1 and ma_test2.

maria_checkpoint_frequency was somehow a hidden part of the
Checkpoint API and that was not good. Now we have checkpoint_interval,
local to ha_maria.cc, which serves as container for the user-visible
maria_checkpoint_interval global variable; setting it calls
update_checkpoint_interval which passes the new value to
ma_checkpoint_init(). There is no hiding anymore.
By default, enable background thread which does checkpoints
every 30 seconds, and dirty page flush in between. That thread takes
a checkpoint when it ends, so no need for maria_hton_panic to take one.
The | is | and not ||, because maria_panic() must always be called.

Use FLUSH_KEEP_LAZY for background thread when it flushes packets of
dirty pages between two checkpoints: it is smarter to move on to
the next file than wait for it to have been completely flushed, which
may take long.

- concurrent calls of flush_pagecache_blocks_int() on the same file
cause bugs (see @note in that function); we fix them by serializing
in this situation. For that we use a global hash of (file, wqueue).
When flush_pagecache_blocks_int() starts it looks into the hash,
using the file as key. If not found, it inserts (file,wqueue) into the
hash, flushes the file, and finally removes itself from the hash and
wakes up any waiter in the queue. If found, it adds itself to the
wqueue and waits.
- As a by-product, we can remove changed_blocks_is_incomplete
and replace it by scanning the hash, replace the sleep() by a queue wait.
- new type of flush FLUSH_KEEP_LAZY: when flushing a file, if it's
already being flushed by another thread (even partially), return
immediately.
