Port preferences to GSettings
Move preferences to GSettings, using mainly shared schemas from
gsettings-desktop-schemas.
Unlike GConf, GSettings support is not optional, as Gio is already
a hard dependency of GTK+.
Based on an initial patch from Milan Bouchet-Valat.
