* test: add common.noop, default for common.mustCall()James M Snell2017-03-261-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Export a new common.noop no-operation function for general use. Allow using common.mustCall() without a fn argument to simplify test cases. Replace various non-op functions throughout tests with common.noop PR-URL: https://github.com/nodejs/node/pull/12027 Reviewed-By: Jeremiah Senkpiel <fishrock123@rocketmail.com> Reviewed-By: Richard Lau <riclau@uk.ibm.com> Reviewed-By: Gibson Fahnestock <gibfahn@gmail.com> Reviewed-By: Teddy Katz <teddy.katz@gmail.com> Reviewed-By: Colin Ihrig <cjihrig@gmail.com> Reviewed-By: Franziska Hinkelmann <franziska.hinkelmann@gmail.com>
* meta: restore original copyright headerJames M Snell2017-03-101-0/+21
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | A prior io.js era commit inappropriately removed the original copyright statements from the source. This restores those in any files still remaining from that edit. * test: use mustCall() for simple flow trackingcjihrig2016-07-181-13/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Many of the tests use variables to track when callback functions are invoked or events are emitted. These variables are then asserted on process exit. This commit replaces this pattern in straightforward cases with common.mustCall(). This makes the tests easier to reason about, leads to a net reduction in lines of code, and uncovered a few bugs in tests. This commit also replaces some callbacks that should never be called with common.fail(). * test: remove unnecessary assignmentsRich Trott2015-12-261-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | common.js needs to be loaded in all tests so that there is checking for variable leaks and possibly other things. However, it does not need to be assigned to a variable if nothing in common.js is referred to elsewhere in the test. * test: enable linting for testsRoman Reiss2015-05-191-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | Enable linting for the test directory. A number of changes was made so all tests conform the current rules used by lib and src directories. The only exception for tests is that unreachable (dead) code is allowed. test-fs-non-number-arguments-throw had to be excluded from the changes because of a weird issue on Windows CI. * test: common.js -> commonBrendan Ashworth2015-02-221-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | This commit changes many test styles to change all references from require('./common.js'); to require('./common');. The latter is much more common, with the former only being used in 50 tests. It is just a stylistic change, and it seems that `common.js` was introduced by a rogue test and copied and pasted into the rest.
