Allow setting cppflags hints. This may affect Darwin (Mac OS X)
(which is actually the reason for the change, we need to pass
cppflags='-traditional-cpp' so that Errno builds right), Dynix/ptx,
EP/IX, OS/2, and TitanOS, based on the hints files.
