<p>SHA-384 belongs to the <a class="rst-reference external" href="http://csrc.nist.gov/publications/fips/fips180-2/fips180-2.pdf" target="_top">SHA-2</a> family of cryptographic hashes.
It produces the 384 bit digest of a message.</p>
