+        The :class:`_postgresql.ARRAY` type, when used with the SQLAlchemy ORM,
+        does not detect in-place mutations to the array. In order to detect
+        these, the :mod:`sqlalchemy.ext.mutable` extension must be used, using
+        the :class:`.MutableList` class::
