* treewide: convert bd_t to struct bd_info by coccinelleMasahiro Yamada2020-07-171-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The Linux coding style guide (Documentation/process/coding-style.rst) clearly says: It's a **mistake** to use typedef for structures and pointers. Besides, using typedef for structures is annoying when you try to make headers self-contained. Let's say you have the following function declaration in a header: void foo(bd_t *bd); This is not self-contained since bd_t is not defined. To tell the compiler what 'bd_t' is, you need to include <asm/u-boot.h> #include <asm/u-boot.h> void foo(bd_t *bd); Then, the include direcective pulls in more bloat needlessly. If you use 'struct bd_info' instead, it is enough to put a forward declaration as follows: struct bd_info; void foo(struct bd_info *bd); Right, typedef'ing bd_t is a mistake. I used coccinelle to generate this commit. The semantic patch that makes this change is as follows: <smpl> @@ typedef bd_t; @@ -bd_t +struct bd_info </smpl> Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <masahiroy@kernel.org>
* common: Drop net.h from common headerSimon Glass2020-05-181-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | Move this header out of the common header. Network support is used in quite a few places but it still does not warrant blanket inclusion. Note that this net.h header itself has quite a lot in it. It could be split into the driver-mode support, functions, structures, checksumming, etc. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
* common: Move RAM-sizing functions to init.hSimon Glass2020-01-171-0/+1
| | | | | | | These functions relate to memory init so move them into the init header. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org>
* common: Move serial functions out of common.hSimon Glass2019-12-021-0/+1
| | | | | | | These functions belong in serial.h so move them over. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
* Move strtomhz() to vsprintf.hSimon Glass2019-12-021-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | At present this function sits in its own file but it does not really justify it. There are similar string functions in vsprintf.h, so move it there. Also add the missing function comment. Use the vsprintf.h include file explicitly where needed. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Reviewed-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
* env: Move env_get_f() to env.hSimon Glass2019-08-111-0/+1
| | | | | | | Move this function over to the new header file. Signed-off-by: Simon Glass <sjg@chromium.org> Acked-by: Joe Hershberger <joe.hershberger@ni.com>
* SPDX: Convert all of our single license tags to Linux Kernel styleTom Rini2018-05-071-2/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | When U-Boot started using SPDX tags we were among the early adopters and there weren't a lot of other examples to borrow from. So we picked the area of the file that usually had a full license text and replaced it with an appropriate SPDX-License-Identifier: entry. Since then, the Linux Kernel has adopted SPDX tags and they place it as the very first line in a file (except where shebangs are used, then it's second line) and with slightly different comment styles than us. In part due to community overlap, in part due to better tag visibility and in part for other minor reasons, switch over to that style. This commit changes all instances where we have a single declared license in the tag as both the before and after are identical in tag contents. There's also a few places where I found we did not have a tag and have introduced one. Signed-off-by: Tom Rini <trini@konsulko.com>
* env: Rename getenv/_f() to env_get()Simon Glass2017-08-161-3/+4
| | | | | | | | | | | We are now using an env_ prefix for environment functions. Rename these two functions for consistency. Also add function comments in common.h. Quite a few places use getenv() in a condition context, provoking a warning from checkpatch. These are fixed up in this patch also. * Rename getenv_r() into getenv_f()Wolfgang Denk2010-08-041-1/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | While running from flash, i. e. before relocation, we have only a limited C runtime environment without writable data segment. In this phase, some configurations (for example with environment in EEPROM) must not use the normal getenv(), but a special function. This function had been called getenv_r(), with the idea that the "_r" suffix would mean the same as in the _r_eentrant versions of some of the C library functions (for example getdate vs. getdate_r, getgrent vs. getgrent_r, etc.). Unfortunately this was a misleading name, as in U-Boot the "_r" generally means "running from RAM", i. e. _after_ relocation. To avoid confusion, rename into getenv_f() [as "running from flash"] Signed-off-by: Wolfgang Denk <wd@denx.de> Acked-by: Detlev Zundel <dzu@denx.de>
