* FindLua: Improve documentation formattingMichael Hirsch2022-08-031-13/+16
| | | | | | | Since commit cb811d11ce (Help: Improve description of modules, 2019-04-12, v3.15.0-rc1~210^2) we've had two `::` prompts for the preformatted block listing the result variables. Convert the block to a definition list.

* FindLua: Search for all library names in each pathBrad King2018-09-251-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | Add the `NAMES_PER_DIR` option to our `find_library` call so that all names are considered in each path as we proceed through the search. This allows locally-built unversioned libraries to be found before versioned system libraries if they appear earlier in the set of paths to be searched. Suggested-by: Alan W. Irwin <irwin@beluga.phys.uvic.ca>
* FindLua: Remove manually specified additional pathsChuck Atkins2018-08-281-9/+0
| | | | | The additional paths specified are already accounted for in the appropriate Platform files.
* FindLua: Set CMP0012 to NEW for the revised search codeAdriaan de Groot2018-07-031-0/+5
| | | | | | | | Code added by commit v3.12.0-rc1~53^2 (FindLua: Search for lua.h using more conventional paths, 2018-05-20) depends on `CMP0012` NEW behavior. Set the policy explicitly for the scope of the FindLua module. Fixes: #18142
* FindLua: Search for lua.h using more conventional pathsAlexander Grund2018-05-241-47/+87
| | | | | | | | Do not constrain the search to `include/*`. To provide compatibility the foreach-loop is still used. However `include/xxx` and `xxx` is now both searched. This honors now e.g. CMAKE_INCLUDE_PATH. Fixes: #17999
* FindLua: Fix error when LUA_INCLUDE_PREFIX is set as a variableFrank Benkstein2018-02-201-0/+1
| | | | | | | | We use `LUA_INCLUDE_PREFIX` for the result of an internal `find_path` call and unset the cache entry before each use. Unset a plain variable of this name too in case it was set by project code. Otherwise the `find_path` call may be skipped and the wrong value used, leading to errors.
* FindLua: try to find library according to version from headerBrad King2017-01-241-7/+9
| | | | | Patch-by: fft on gitlab.kitware.com Issue: #15756
* FindLua: Add dl library to Lua static library linkingMichael Krasnyk2017-01-201-0/+7
| | | | | If a Lua library is compiled from source as `liblua.a` its link dependency on `dl` must be satisfied explicitly.
* Simplify CMake per-source license noticesBrad King2016-09-271-14/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Per-source copyright/license notice headers that spell out copyright holder names and years are hard to maintain and often out-of-date or plain wrong. Precise contributor information is already maintained automatically by the version control tool. Ultimately it is the receiver of a file who is responsible for determining its licensing status, and per-source notices are merely a convenience. Therefore it is simpler and more accurate for each source to have a generic notice of the license name and references to more detailed information on copyright holders and full license terms. Our `Copyright.txt` file now contains a list of Contributors whose names appeared source-level copyright notices. It also references version control history for more precise information. Therefore we no longer need to spell out the list of Contributors in each source file notice. Replace CMake per-source copyright/license notice headers with a short description of the license and links to `Copyright.txt` and online information available from "https://cmake.org/licensing". The online URL also handles cases of modules being copied out of our source into other projects, so we can drop our notices about replacing links with full license text. Run the `Utilities/Scripts/filter-notices.bash` script to perform the majority of the replacements mechanically. Manually fix up shebang lines and trailing newlines in a few files. Manually update the notices in a few files that the script does not handle.
