* iio: frequency: adf4350: Fix alignment for DMA safetyJonathan Cameron2022-06-141-3/+3
| | | | | | | | | | | | | ____cacheline_aligned is an insufficient guarantee for non-coherent DMA on platforms with 128 byte cachelines above L1. Switch to the updated IIO_DMA_MINALIGN definition. Updated help text to 'may' require buffers to be in their own cacheline. * | spi: make remove callback a void functionUwe Kleine-König2022-02-091-3/+1
|/ | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The value returned by an spi driver's remove function is mostly ignored. (Only an error message is printed if the value is non-zero that the error is ignored.) So change the prototype of the remove function to return no value. This way driver authors are not tempted to assume that passing an error to the upper layer is a good idea. All drivers are adapted accordingly. There is no intended change of behaviour, all callbacks were prepared to return 0 before. * iio: frequency: adf4350: Replace indio_dev->mlock with own device lockSergiu Cuciurean2020-09-161-6/+15
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | As part of the general cleanup of indio_dev->mlock, this change replaces it with a local lock. The lock protect the state of the device from potential concurrent writes. The device is configured via a sequence of SPI writes, and this lock is meant to prevent the start of another sequence before another one has finished. This is part of a bigger cleanup. * iio: remove explicit IIO device parent assignmentAlexandru Ardelean2020-06-141-1/+0
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | This patch applies the semantic patch: @@ expression I, P, SP; @@ I = devm_iio_device_alloc(P, SP); ... - I->dev.parent = P; It updates 302 files and does 307 deletions. This semantic patch also removes some comments like '/* Establish that the iio_dev is a child of the i2c device */' But this is is only done in case where the block is left empty. The patch does not seem to cover all cases. It looks like in some cases a different variable is used in some cases to assign the parent, but it points to the same reference. In other cases, the block covered by ... may be just too big to be covered by the semantic patch. However, this looks pretty good as well, as it does cover a big bulk of the drivers that should remove the parent assignment. * | iio: Export SPI module alias information in missing driversJavier Martinez Canillas2015-08-221-0/+1
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | The SPI core always reports the MODALIAS uevent as "spi:<modalias>" regardless of the mechanism that was used to register the device (i.e: OF or board code) and the table that is used later to match the driver with the device (i.e: SPI id table or OF match table). So drivers needs to export the SPI id table and this be built into the module or udev won't have the necessary information to autoload the needed driver module when the device is added.
