Also drop a pointless include, as the 'oss' layout defines all keys.
|
| |
|
|
|
|
| |
Also replace some 0x100nnnn codes with Unnnn, and tweak some comments.
|
|
|
|
| |
Also, remove a redundant include -- the AFNOR layout defines all keys.

The two are equivalent, and using 'Oslash' makes things symmetrical:
it was puzzling to see those 'oslash, Ooblique' combos. Furthermore,
'Oslash' is what xkbcomp outputs.

Key symbol 'horizconnector' has not been working for more than eleven
years. In all that time no one has complained, so... it seems no one
was using that character.
So, replace it with something that works, and that is more mnemonic
(having a comma or a period on one of the first two levels, and the
centered period to its right): the bullet character, U+2022.
Fixes #301.

Tags are introduced to indicate special variants:
1. UNREGISTERED - the ones that should not be in base.*xml
2. HW-SPECIFIC - the ones that are default for some special keyboard model

Move some lang(us) variants from us(euro) to us(basic) as basis,
adding the:
include "level3(ralt_switch)"
include "eurosign(5)"
To the changed over variants (where not already present) so that there
are no functional changes.
This is a preparation patch for changing the mapping of LSGT to
backslash/bar in the "us(euro)" variant. First making sure that no
other variants derive from the "us(euro)" variant, ensures that this
change will not impact any other variants.

Each of these variants is identical to the variant that they include.
Offering variants that are not actually variants is not useful.
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
| |
Also trim some excessive comments, and don't use combining characters
in the trailing comments.
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
| |
These variants are not referenced from rules/base.xml, and are always
the same layout as the one with a lowercase "sun". The capitalized
variants are referenced only from the symbols/sun_vndr/* files, so...
simply adjust the references there and delete the capitalized layouts.
|
|
|
|
| |
Also remove four useless comments.
|
| |
|
|
|
|
|
| |
Consolidate earlier inconsistent wording variants meaning
the same thing to use "default partial" everywhere.

This reverts commit cf93beb47f9907946dd72ca4d481ffbbbadda53a
Let <KPDL> key on it,fr and nl keyboards generate KP_Separator.
Notwithstanding the never ending discussion what character this
key on the numeric keypad should produce this key should produce
what is imprinted on the keyboards. After all all three countries
are observing the SI standards.
This makes this layout more consistent and match for instance
what is done in the de layout.
It turned out that the information about the keypad separator
for the fr, it and nl keyboard layouts were obtained from what
glibc sets as delimiter for the respective language.
This however doesn't coincide what is imprinted on the keyboards
for the respective languages.

The informal name for ISO-8859-15 is "Latin-9", capitalized;
use "US" instead of "USA" as an adjective;
consistenly speak of "Compose" instead of "Multi_Key";
use the same wording ("only") where the same thing is meant;
spell "semicolon" correctly;
use the "ShiftLock" word that is also used elsewhere;
don't hyphenate "Shift keys";
make a description more "descriptive" using third person;
remove inconsistent trailing periods;
Esperanto accents are not just circumflexes but also a breve; and
it are not the "accents" that are added but the "accented letters".

Some keys have only two characters printed: the unmodified character,
and a character in the Shift+AltGr position (upper right).
For such keys, users were confused why the "other" character could not
be accessed with AltGr alone.
Make such keys behave shift-invariant to remove this confusion.
Also add some obvious omissions from the previous submission fixing
various other keys that weren't working as printed.
The corresponding keyboard can be seen here:
