* Rename config.h so it can be installed as gpsd_config.h...Chris Kuethe2006-10-261-1/+1
| | | | | | ...for those who want to build their own apps linked against libgps and want the headers to work. Works on OpenBSD, tested by Jeff Francis on OS X and Linux
* Allow for gpsd_report and gpsd_hexdump to be suppressed to save cpu cycles.Chris Kuethe2006-10-241-0/+15
| | | | | This renders logging completely useless, but that may be acceptable in some embedded deployments.
* Proper test for strtonum if I'm going to continue to use it.Chris Kuethe2006-10-231-0/+1

* Introducing a new configuration option "--disable-reconfigure"...Chris Kuethe2006-10-021-0/+14
| | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | ...which is used to prevent gpsd from taking actions which would alter the configuration of your receiver. This could include, but might not be limited to: * port speed * communication protocol * output messages sent * output message rate * resetting the receiver * clearing stored almanac/ephemeris/position/clock calibration This is useful in cases where you have your receiver set up in a particular manner (logging raw pseudoranges, carrier phases and NAV data, for example) and don't mind sharing that data, so long as it's read-only. For now, this affects the speed/protocol switch commands in gpsd.c, but the device drivers will need to be patched as well.
* Add a bit more verbosity to configure. From Dave C.Gary E. Miller2006-10-021-0/+1

* Patch to allow PPS on CTS instead of DCD.Gary E. Miller2006-09-281-0/+13

* Make the summary screen show whether X11 and Python support is enabled.Chris Kuethe2006-09-211-1/+7
|
* Add --disable-python, for build environments where python is not wanted.Chris Kuethe2006-09-211-0/+8
| | | | | The default remains "--enable-python". Tested with --disable-python, .--enable-python and unspecified, which correctly acted like --enable-python
* Put all the X bits together...Chris Kuethe2006-09-211-1/+9
| | | | | | | and make them truly dependent on --with-x or .--without-x. If you say --without-x, we don't even try test for headers or anything else. Tested with --with-x, --without-x and with the flag unspecified.

* Obey the warnings of lint and cc because they know C better than you do.Chris Kuethe2006-08-181-0/+2
| | | | | | | | | | | | By extension, obey the warnings of ld because it knows the ABI better than you do. I'm going on a bit of a string safety rampage before 2.34 - this may mean including our own copy of strlcat and strlcpy for systems which don't provide it... that means you, glibc. gpsd.o(.text+0xfc): In function `gpsd_report': gpsd.c:158: warning: strcpy() is almost always misused, please use strlcpy() gpsd.o(.text+0x1346): In function `handle_gpsd_request': gpsd.c:792: warning: strcat() is almost always misused, please use strlcat()
* A gpsd with no protocols is an invalid configuration; make configure fail. Chris Kuethe2006-08-181-2/+14
| | | | | This'll probably be easier to maintain than tests all over the source tree.
* Disable RTCM-104 unless a protocol with half a chance of understanding itChris Kuethe2006-08-181-0/+3
| | | | is enabled.
* Version bump. I don't think we're in Kansas^W 2.33 any more, Toto.Chris Kuethe2006-08-181-1/+1

* SiRF name cleanup.Chris Kuethe2006-08-171-9/+9
| | | | | | | | | | 1) the product line is called SiRFstar 2) I don't have any original SiRFstar receivers but my documentation says the protocol remained mostly the same between SS1, SS2 and SS3; it just got richer as time went by. At least with my SS2 and SS3 receivers, this holds true. 3) elsewhere in the code there are SIRF_THIS and SIRF_THAT, which implies (correctly) independence of chipset version.

* Bump version because we're not in 2.32 any more, Toto!Chris Kuethe2006-05-171-1/+1
| | | | Eric and Robin ok (on gpsd-dev)
* Support fixed-speed operation.Chris Kuethe2006-05-091-0/+15
| | | | | | | | | | Taking an item from esr's wish list, this patch locks gpsd to a particular serial port speed at compile time. This should make life a little easier on embedded users who don't want to go hunting for the baud rate at startup all the time when they know where/what baud the GPS is. This patch is not very well tested yet - it went to gpsd-dev and I heard no complaints - but I am committing it so it gets more testing.
* The ENABLE_PPS bug on USB GPSes is no more....Eric S. Raymond2006-03-121-3/+3
